Breeding
Rancho Fino is
not only the largest Past Fino breeder in the Western United
States, it also has stallions and broodmares that represent the
finest bloodlines of the breed.
The philosophy
at Rancho Fino is to carefully select the best bloodlines that
consistently produce:
-
Temperament
-
Conformation
-
Gait
-
Gentleness
-
Color
Breeding is an
art. Understanding and selecting the most suited stallions and
mares requires not only a historical knowledge of what has been
successful in the past but also a sufficient quantity of mares
and stallions that consistently produce the highest quality
Pleasure, Performance and Classic Fino gaits.
With a large
selection of mares, Rancho Fino can breed not to just our own
stallions but any major stallion anywhere. Smaller breeders are
restricted in providing only what a few mares can produce. It’s
a proven fact that 85% of the results of a breeding come from
the mare.
Breeders understand that not matter how hard they try to produce
a fino gait, very few will be born with a national level fino
gait.
Therefore,
selecting those bloodlines that consistently produce Pleasure
and Performance horses is very important. These are the horses
that will be sold for pleasure riders and on trails, and in the
show ring. The Performance horses also provide a great trail and
pleasure ride. They also are tremendous fun in the show arena.
Rancho Fino strives to produce the best of each gait and provide
our customers the best horse possible for their chosen style of
riding.
These are the
broodmares and stallions at Rancho Fino. You will find every
major bloodline here. Also notice the offspring from our own
mares and stallions that have made it to the breeding circle.

La Chula is one of the best broodmares we've seen. She has
produced 2 exceptional Fillies in the past two seasons. Her 2
year old, "Preciosa" is from the Terremoto son, "Panorama".
Her last filly is from another Terremoto son, "Temblor". Both
fillies have all the qualities that make top "Fino" horses.
