Breeding

Rancho Fino is not only the largest Past Fino breeder in the Western United States, it also has stallions and broodmares that represent the finest bloodlines of the breed.

The philosophy at Rancho Fino is to carefully select the best bloodlines that consistently produce:

  1. Temperament

  2. Conformation

  3. Gait

  4. Gentleness

  5. Color

Breeding is an art. Understanding and selecting the most suited stallions and mares requires not only a historical knowledge of what has been successful in the past but also a sufficient quantity of mares and stallions that consistently produce the highest quality Pleasure, Performance and Classic Fino gaits.

With a large selection of mares, Rancho Fino can breed not to just our own stallions but any major stallion anywhere. Smaller breeders are restricted in providing only what a few mares can produce. It’s a proven fact that 85% of the results of a breeding come from the mare.
Breeders understand that not matter how hard they try to produce a fino gait, very few will be born with a national level fino gait.

Therefore, selecting those bloodlines that consistently produce Pleasure and Performance horses is very important. These are the horses that will be sold for pleasure riders and on trails, and in the show ring. The Performance horses also provide a great trail and pleasure ride. They also are tremendous fun in the show arena.
Rancho Fino strives to produce the best of each gait and provide our customers the best horse possible for their chosen style of riding.

These are the broodmares and stallions at Rancho Fino. You will find every major bloodline here. Also notice the offspring from our own mares and stallions that have made it to the breeding circle.

Without a doubt, this stallion is the “Ambassador of the Paso Finos”. After winning the World Cup Grand World Championship in Performance Stallions in Cali, Colombia in 1997, he went on to win the World Cup Grand World Championship Pleasure Stallions in Tampa Florida in 1999. In 2000, Ingeniero went to Europe to demonstrate and breed in England and Germany. He was shown in many prestigious events and represented the Paso Fino breed for 6 years before returning to the United States.

Ingeniero produced the mare Flying M Toscana, who has won every Performance Mare event in the western United States.

Ingeniero is producing exceptional quality babies at Rancho Fino while continuing to win in the show ring. He was the 2007 Champion Pleasure stallion at the Las Vegas Gold Cup.

Ingeniero is the first Paso Fino cover photo for the National Stallions Calendar.

La Chula is one of the best broodmares we've seen.  She has produced 2 exceptional Fillies in the past two seasons.  Her 2 year old, "Preciosa" is from the Terremoto son, "Panorama".  Her last filly is from another Terremoto son, "Temblor".  Both fillies have all the qualities that make top "Fino" horses.  Top of Page

Mother of Heredero and grandmother of Joyero I and Joyero III, Sensacion is without question one of the top producing broodmares in the Paso Fino breed.  She, like Filipina, has produced embryos from the breed’s top stallions.  Sensacion is one of the most sought-after brood mares, and has the Terremoto bloodlines to produce the finest of the breed.
